A boiler is a sealed pressure vessel usually made of steel in which liquid is heated. This liquid is most often water. Another term used for a boiler can be a “furnace”. The liquid is heated or vaporized not necessarily being brought to a boil and then exits the boiler in different ways to heat homes and buildings. There are two main types of boilers, fire-tube, and water-tube. There are four classifications; steam boiler, hot water boiler, high-pressure and low pressure.
